Asperity client McDonald’s picked up the award for ‘Outstanding Employee Engagement Strategy’ in this year’s HR Excellence Awards.
Announced last night at the awards ceremony in London, McDonald’s was commended by this year’s judges for having an engagement strategy which is “firmly based in the business”.
The fast food chain’s employee engagement strategy was launched to enhance employee pride in the organisation, improve brand perception, develop its people and to contribute to increasing overall business performance.
Part of the strategy, developed and implemented last year, was to introduce Asperity’s Reward Gateway to its people. The employee discounts scheme quickly became popular with employees, with record success of over £2million employee spend within three months of launch.
Described by HR Excellence magazine as a ‘hotly contested’ category, the employee engagement award finalists included The Co-operative Group, Derbyshire Community Health Services, DHL Supply Chain, Johnson Controls Automotive and long-standing Asperity client, Ladbrokes plc.
Diageo, also a client of Asperity, was Highly Commended in the category and praised for its “belief that the capability and energy of people can deliver unrivalled business performance”, which sits at the core of the company’s employee engagement strategy.
Judges went on to applaud Diageo for its clear and well implemented strategy, which had engaged leaders and boosted employees’ career growth.
