Asperity & Kent County Council win again with Total Reward
Kent County Council has won ‘Best public sector HR strategy or initiative’ at the HR Excellence Awards 2010, it was announced last night.
This is the second award the council has won in less than a week, the first being ‘Most effective benefits strategy in a public sector organisation’ at the Employee Benefits Awards last Friday.
The council’s benefits scheme, Kent Rewards – which is provided by Asperity Employee Benefits – provides an integrated benefits programme to its employees, which includes the provision of childcare vouchers, cycle to work and total reward statements.
The organisation was praised by this year’s HR Excellence judges for developing a “non-financial rewards package that suits their different needs” and providing a successful Total Reward framework whereby staff can view a summary of their tangible and intangible rewards via online, easy-to-use total reward statements.
The judges went on to commend the council for its “innovative approach to reward communication (such as through online videos)”. High employee engagement figures for the scheme were highlighted as a marker of its success, as well as outstanding satisfaction survey results.
