Benefits Communication
With the right benefits scheme design in place, the next thing to do is to develop a communications plan to get the message to your employees.
Benefits communication is an ongoing, never-finished task. One of the most common reasons for the failure of a scheme is that a fanfare of communications is delivered for the launch, but the project doesn't manage to embed communications within the normal employee-comms channels that the business uses on an ongoing basis.
Asperity's account managers design rolling twelve-month communications programmes. This means we look ahead for how to reach your whole employee audience throughout the year. The communications plan we develop for you will let you see the coming months in detail and the future months at a higher level. But we'll be sure to have thought about the full twelve months ahead at any point.
The five key stages we look at when planning your benefits communications are :
- Pre-launch
- Launch
- Employee induction
- Ongoing - regular and seasonal updates
- Aligned with other communications programmes
Cross-promotion and targeting of communications
Over time, the data in your Reward Gateway programme becomes a valuable tool to help communicate on an individually tailored basis with your employees. For staff engaged by the discounts part of Reward Gateway we'll be able to lead them to information about particular salary sacrifice benefits, most commonly Childcare Vouchers and a Cycle to Work scheme.
It's simple really - if we have an employee who regularly takes advantage of discounts and offers on children's toys, family days out and children's clothing, it's a good sign that they could be interested in learning more about Childcare Vouchers. So if they've opted in to the fortnightly Reward Gateway newsletter we can drop an article on Childcare Vouchers onto the bottom to explain what extra savings they could make.
Communication Channels
Communications channels vary widely between organisations and we'll start by asking you how you normally communicate with your staff. Some companies have regular newsletters or magazines that already go to some or all of their employees and for those we'll write articles and run competitions tuned to your readership. For others it might be monthly update posters for staff noticeboards or tent cards for staff canteens. Whatever the situation in your organisation, it'll be your Asperity account manager's job to develop a programme that will work for you. We'll work within your print and production budget, within your corporate communications constraints and rules, and we'll maximise the opportunities we find in your company.
