Discount Types

What types of discount exist? And which ones should be in your scheme?

There are really five types of discounts available when designing a voluntary benefits scheme. As your staff are not all the same, and have different spending and shopping patterns, a well rounded scheme should have a mix of these, ensuring that there is something for everyone.

The five key groups that we cover in a benefits scheme are :
  1. Online Cashback deals
  2. Discounted gift vouchers and cards
  3. Negotiated discount deals
  4. Local offers
  5. In-store (High Street) discounts and Cashback.

The diagram below shows the role that each type of discount plays in your programme.  All of these should be seamlessly presented through a single website, a single brochure, if needed, and a single communication plan. This will ensure that your staff can easily access the savings they are attracted to and the message is clear and straighforward. You can find more information on each of the types of discounts in Asperity's Reward Gateway by following the links above.
