Sky Benefits Extra
British satellite broadcasting company, BSkyB, launched its brand new employee benefits scheme in November 2009, with Asperity Employee Benefits.
All 17,500 employees at BSkyB have access to the new scheme, called ‘Sky Benefits Extra’. Based on Asperity’s benefits web platform, Reward Gateway, employees who use the scheme can enjoy discounted retail vouchers, Cashback on online purchases and re-loadable cards, the value of which can be topped up online at a discounted price.
In little over six months since launch, 49% of Sky’s employees were registered with the scheme. Collectively, these employees had spent more than £1 million on the platform in the same amount of time and the site typically attracts 5,000 hits per month by active registered users.
“With Asperity’s Reward Gateway platform, all the key reward and recognition information can be accessed both from home and at work. We have got around 3,000 people in the field, so this was an important factor for us to consider. What we wanted – and what we have now got – is a common platform so employees’ experience at work and at home is no different. They can access it via any browser and that has really helped the take-up of the scheme.”
